who we are
Open Booth is a New York-based theatre company dedicated to creating new plays that explore big ideas through an intimate lens. And, much like a booth (hah), we’re open to anyone who’s quick enough to grab a seat. We believe that plays begin with questions but do not generally end with answers. We believe that the best plays are made from ensemble, luck, and the ordinary moments that you'd usually forget. We do not believe in Shakespeare, adaptations, or anything that an old person would describe as a “laugh riot!”

For small-town punk rock band Two Star Motel, 2001 was the best. And the worst. Taking place over the course of a single concert (and an entire year), Two Star Motel explores what it meant to be young and angry at the beginning of the millennium.
